The South Beach diet was started by a cardiologist, Dr. Arthur Agatston so what I liked about it was that it was a "heart healthy" diet. The South Beach diet is a low carb diet and that's on of the things I liked the most. I found that I lose the most weight on low carb diets. This one also had great reviews by my physician and cardiologist. Always ask your doctors!
